consulting
After spending more than 15 years in the food and wine trenches, I think I’ve essentially done everything there is to do in this industry, from working in the kitchens themselves to launching web sites and running around at awards shows sporting an evening gown, heels and a walkie-talkie.
I also co-founded the world’s first all-food podcast channel, and potentially its first social-media-driven cookbook, so the learning curve has been steep but informative. Most importantly, we’ve learned how — and how not — to leverage online media outlets.
Both individually and through the consulting firm I co-founded with Chef Mark Tafoya, Adventures in Gastronomy, our clients have ranged from Fortune 500 companies and major international consumer brands to celebrity chefs and local gourmet shops. In addition to concept development, we’re able to offer a tailored campaign for your needs including customized web sites, video production and new media distribution.
Let’s talk — we’d love to help you stand out in what has become a very crowded online marketplace.

Concept Development
Do you have a burning idea that needs some feedback? Or a little massaging to take it to the next level? We can help you fine-tune your ideas and play devil’s advocate (we do love that part). Or perhaps you want to pursue a career in an area about which you’re totally passionate, but don’t know where to begin. We can help there, too.
Marketing & “Social Media Strategy”
I hear the phrase “social media strategy” a lot, and it makes me a little bit nutty. Social media should more than likely be part of your grand plan — but it is only one part of the marketing mix. We can sit down with you to look at your marketing strategy from a global perspective, incorporating all the pertinent elements that contribute to building a solid relationship with your target market.
Web Site Development & Redesign
If you aren’t on the web, you’re invisible, whether you are the neighborhood pizza joint or an award-winning restaurant. You probably know that already. Here’s something you might not know, however: The music, bells and other whistles that appear on a lot of restaurant web sites? Customers usually hate them, especially if they’re browsing on a mobile phone, and just want to know your phone number so they can make a reservation.
It is more crucial than ever to capture every potential customer who comes to your site, so be sure you’re addressing them smartly.
Whether your site just needs a slight makeover or must be built from scratch, our design elements take full advantage of inexpensive software and social media tools to give you the most reach for your dollars, and our tutorials can help you take your customer interaction to the next level.
